Ryan M. Hendricker, MD, MBA, FACS, FAAOA

HendrickerDr. Ryan Hendricker was born and reared in Decatur, IL.  He attended Olivet Nazarene University for undergraduate training majoring in biology and graduating Summa Cum Laude with departmental and university honors in 2001.  Medical training commenced and was completed with honors at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine in Peoria in 2005.  While a junior medical student he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society, and graduated as a James Scholar, an honors research program within the University of Illinois.  He then completed residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio in 2010.  Following residency training, Dr. Hendricker was named Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at The Ohio State University and was selected to complete a Laryngology fellowship, receiving advanced training under the direction of Dr. L. Arick Forrest in the management of voice and swallowing disorders.

Dr. Hendricker practices full-spectrum otolaryngology.  He has advanced training in care for the professional voice, endoscopic and open techniques for laryngeal surgery, and awake fiberoptic procedures.  He is Medical Director of the OSF Voice and Swallowing Disorders Center, a multidisciplinary clinic devoted to the comprehensive care of patients in the region with voice or swallowing problems.  Dr. Hendricker’s clinical interests include adult and pediatric general otolaryngology, surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid diseases, endoscopic sinus surgery including balloon sinuplasty procedures performed in the office and operating room settings, pediatric and adult otology and management of head and neck cancers.

Dr. Hendricker is on staff at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center, Proctor Hospital, and Center for Health Ambulatory Surgery Center, LLC. He is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Hendricker enjoys spending time with his wife Julie and family.  He has three children Matthew, Bradley and Anna that are the joy of his life.  Dr. Hendricker is a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and is active in the music ministry.  Dr. Hendricker’s faith is the foundation for his family and professional life.  He is also an avid gardener and enjoys singing with the Peoria Area Civic Chorale.
